Mathober 2023 Prompt 4: Section

A series of blog posts of 100ish words for Mathober.

Section

There’s no reason for a section to be cross.

I can understand a solid being cross when somebody takes a cross section. After all, if somebody cut through me it would make me pretty cross. But the section should be glad. It’s been set free, finally allowed to glimpse the world after being trapped inside a solid for all this time. It can show off its shape, provide new insights, shine in the spotlight at last.

I propose new terminology. Instead of cross section, it should be called a liberated section.
